Puppy Manners
Time: Wednesdays; Jan./Feb. Class 7:00 pm; all others 6:30 pm

Description: This class is designed to give you and your puppy a great start in the world by working on confidence-building, manners and socialization. At the start of the session puppies should be between the ages of 8 weeks to 6 months for most breeds. Exceptions may be made for older puppies smaller than 15 pounds or tiny adult dogs. There will be a $5 materials fee to be paid to the instructor at the first class. Collars should be leather or nylon – NO metal collars. (Please call the instructor if you have questions about this)
Requirements: Puppies 8 weeks to 6 months. Puppy must have been in your care for at least 3 weeks. Classes cannot accept dogs with extreme aggression problems.

Beginning Obedience A.M.
Time: Wednesday, 10:00 am

Description: this class is designed to get your dog started with obedience training using positive reinforcement, clicker, games and tricks. There will be a $5 supply fee to be paid to the instructor at the first class for clicker, bait bag and information folder.
Requirements: Dogs 5 months and older. Dog must have been in your care for at least 3 weeks. Classes cannot accept dogs with extreme aggression problems.

Beginning Obedience P.M.

Description: This class is designed to help you teach your dog basic obedience skills and manners that make for a good companion dog. Those skills include sit, down, come, wait/stay and walking on a loose leash. Good manners include polite greetings, staying focused around distractions and not jumping on people. In addition, you can work toward preparing to take the AKC canine good citizen test.
Requirements: Dogs 5 months and older. Dog must have been in your care for at least 3 weeks. Classes cannot accept dogs with extreme aggression problems.

Intermediate Obedience
Time: Tuesdays, 7:00 pm

Description: This class is designed to polish your dog’s basic obedience skills to a higher level. You can work toward preparing for the Canine Good Citizen test and/or Novice Obedience competition. We work on adding duration and distance to your stays, distance and speed to your recalls, playing games and increasing the various distractions. Dogs should have completed the Beginning Obedience class or have made prior arrangements with the instructor.
Requirements: Completion of beginning obedience class.

Advanced Obedience Workshop
Time: Saturdays, 9:00 am

Description: Advanced AKC/UKC Competition Precision Obedience preparation and development.
Requirements: Demonstrable obedience skills and permission of the instructor.

Conformation Class and Workshop

Tricks to Music

Description: This is a relatively new activity that combines the fun and entertainment value of tricks with some obedience movements forming the visually exciting display of dog and handler dancing together to music. Amaze your friends at parties! Make your therapy dog’s visits more entertaining! Add enthusiasm to your obedience dog’s performances! Whether you just want to entertain your family or want to dance competitively for titles, this class will introduce you and your dog to this fun and relationship-building activity. If you are not interested in dancing, then this is still a great class for teaching fun tricks.

Rally Obedience
Time: Fridays, Novice Class at 7:00pm; WORKSHOP (Novice/Advanced/Excellent) at 8:00pm

Description: This class is designed to give you and your dog a fun way to practice and polish basic obedience skills, while heeling through a course with various AKC rally stations. The class will train you how to execute all of the Novice level signs, with an introduction of the Advanced level signs. A fun way to develop obedience skills for you and your dog as well as preparing for AKC “Rally” Competition and Titles.
Requirements: Completion of beginning obedience class.
